What are Triglycerides? Triglycerides, along with cholesterol, are the lipids or fatty acids deposited in the body. The carbohydrates that our body gets from the food we eat are transformed into glucose to be used by the cells in doing their task. Once the cells are supplied with the needed energy, the excess energy or glucose is then sent back to the liver to be converted to glycogen. These are then stored in the muscles. Excess glycogen in turn is then sent back to the liver where it is converted into triglycerides. These are stored as fat in various parts of the body.
